Hi — I’m Peter Vanderpost, the one-person cartoon shop behind Cow Puzzle Productions. I draw big-eyed animals, back-talking objects, and a groan-worthy punchline in just about every frame.
It started as “cartooning for my own amusement” and quietly became a whole thing. There’s a punchy colour side — belugas, penguins, Blue Jays and a proudly Canadian streak — and a moody grayscale side I stretch out every October, drawing all thirty-one Inktober prompts in ink.
Every December I draw a new Christmas Behind the Scenes card, there’s an ongoing bit with Berton & the Bunny, and you’ll find the gags on mugs, tees and stickers, in custom commissions, and — one day — bound up in a proper book.
Because the best names are the ones you can’t quite explain — a little bit cow, a little bit puzzle, entirely on-brand for a cartoonist who draws whatever makes him laugh. Stick around; it makes more sense the longer you look. (It doesn’t, really. That’s the fun.)
